Raja is a child of 12 or 13 years, once lived in his small village with his mother, step father, sisters and brothers in their small hut. Raja played in the field, in the river and on the tree with his friends. He had access to all the parts of the village. He grew with the touch of soil, water and air in his village. Though, there was poverty in his family, it did not touch him mentally. Sohagi, little elder than Raja, a friend, played and went to school together. Sohagi made ornament by flowers. Raja was charmed by the artistic beauty of this ornament and he told that he would present a gold ornament to Sohagi.

But for the oppression, inequality and poverty within the family and society Raja had to leave his village. He comes to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. He becomes one of them of millions of floating people of the city. He becomes a floating vendor, waste collector, shop workers, and rickshaw puller. He roams about the whole of the city of Dhaka. Sometimes he sleeps in the street, sometimes in the railway station, sometimes in the launch terminal, and sometimes in the mazars. By the time Raja dreams of returning to his village, dreams of returning to the mother and dreams of buying gold ornament for Sohagi.

One day, Raja bought an ornament for Sohagi. He returned to the village.

Raja was excited to see his village, green field, trees, rivers, birds and known people. But, he cannot find his homestead, mother, brothers and sisters. He does not find Sohagi. His village, homes, known people have been lost in the river and creation of town.

Once again Raja returns to the city. The number of one more street children increases.
